Scores of verified Twitter accounts belonging to Labour MPs, left-wing lawyers and even right-wing commentators poured scorn on Sunak’s slogan #Ready4Rishi, his wealth, for being fined for Partygate, tax avoidance (in reference to his wife Akshata), even his immigrant background, and for holding a US green card for a time while chancellor of the exchequer.
